Yet Another Hat Game
نویسندگان
چکیده
Several different “hat games” have recently received a fair amount of attention. Typically, in a hat game, one or more players are required to correctly guess their hat colour when given some information about other players’ hat colours. Some versions of these games have been motivated by research in complexity theory and have ties to well-known research problems in coding theory, and some variations have led to interesting new research. In this paper, we review Ebert’s Hat Game [5, 6] which garnered a considerable amount of publicity in the late 90’s and early 00’s [9], and the Hats-on-a-line Game [2, 3]. Then we introduce a new hat game which is a “hybrid” of these two games and provide an optimal strategy for playing the new game. The optimal strategy is quite simple, but the proof involves an interesting combinatorial argument.

Asymmetric Hat Game with three players and three colors
The Hat Game (Ebert’s Hat Problem) got much attention in the beginning of this century; not in the last place by its connections to coding theory and computer science. This paper studies Ebert’s hat problem with three persons and three colors, where the probabilities of the colors may be different (asymmetric case) . All players guess simultaneously the color of their own hat observing only the...
متن کاملWinkler's Hat Guessing Game: Better Results for Imbalanced Hat Distributions
In this note, we give an explicit polynomial-time executable strategy for Peter Winkler’s hat guessing game that gives superior results if the distribution of hats is imbalanced. While Winkler’s strategy guarantees in any case that ⌊n/2⌋ of the n player guess their hat color correct, our strategy ensures that the players produce max{r, b} − 1.2n2/3 − 2 correct guesses for any distribution of r ...

distinguishable players are randomly fitted with a white or black hat, where the probabilities of getting a white or black hat may be different for each player, but known to all the players. All players guess simultaneously the color of their own hat observing only the hat colors of the other − 1 players. It is also allowed for each player to pass: no color is guessed. The team wins if at least...
متن کاملYet Another Pacman 3D Adventures
This game is meant to be extension of the overly-beaten pacman-style game (code-named"Yet Another Pacman 3D Adventures", or YAP3DAD) from the proposed ideas and other projects with advance visual and computer graphics features, including a-game-in-a-game approach. The project is an open-source project published on SourceForge.net for possible future development and extension.
متن کاملA presentation of On Hats and Other Covers
A team of n players enters a game room, and each player is fitted with a hat, which is either red or green. A player can see the other players’ hat colors, but hot his own. Each player is then asked to make a declarations, which must be one of the statements “my hat is red,” “my hat is green,” or “I pass.” All the players must declare simultaneously, and no communication is allowed between them...
